    01| Should Glasslock food storage containers be washed before use?

    Yes, we recommend washing all containers before storing food in them. Please read the Use & Care instructions before use. 

    02| I just received/bought my Glasslock container and the lid is stucked onto the container, what should I do?

    During the long transportation from South Korea to Europe, the containers might have been a little bit under pressure, therefore you may experience a gasket ejection or it may be difficult to open the lid the first time because of the 100% airtight function.

    This is not a manufacturer's defect. Just pull carefully the lid to realse it from the container, and put back the silicone gasket in place in case it sticked on the glass container.

    03| Are Glasslock products BPA (bisphenol-A) free?

    Yes, every Glasslock products that are currently on the market are completely free of bisphenol-A (BPA). Glasslock is committed to providing customers safe, high quality and innovative storage containers, and removing BPA from all products is an important matter that we carefully respect. Recently there has been much debates over the unhealthiness of BPA, which is a component of polycarbonate used in many plastics. BPA can potentially leach from containers when heated (in the microwave or via other methods), ultimately creating a safety risk when in contact with food. Due to these potential hazards, Glasslock's extensive product lines are manufactured entirely without use of BPA. We back our BPA-free claim with continuous tests handled by internationally recognized independent labs.

    04| Are Glasslock products made of tempered glass?

    Although all Glasslock products are made of soda-lime glass, they are not all tempered. The difference between general soda-lime glass and tempered soda-lime glass is the cooling process during production. The advantage with tempered soda-lime glass is that it reinforces the heat and shock resistance of the glass to such an extent that the shock resistance is 3 to 5 times higher than other types of glass. In the event of any breakage, the glass will not have any sharp edges, that's why it is also called "Safety Tempered Glass".

    05| What type of plastic are the lids made of?

    Most of Glasslock's lids are made of polypropylene (PP) and the seals are made of silicone. Also, some of Glasslock's lids are made of low density polyethylene (LDPE) or styrene acrylonitrile (SAN). These plastics are 100% BPA free and the containers are food safe and FDA approved. Please refer to the products sheets for more information. 

    06| Is it safe to wash Glasslock products in the dishwasher?

    Practicality and easy use is part of Glasslock's product philosophy. Therefore, all our products are designed to be easy to clean and can also safely be washed in the dishwasher. For longer durability, avoid abrasive cleaners and scrub pads when hand washing. 

    07| Can Glasslock food containers go in the freezer/fridge?

    Yes, all Glasslock containers have a minimum heat-resistance from -20° up to 120°C (up to 230°C for the oven safe containers) and thus, are designed for use in the freezer and refrigerator. Please read carefully the Use and Care instructions.

    08| Are Glasslock containers microwave safe?

    Most of Glasslock containers are microwave safe. Any time a container is placed in a microwave, you must first loosen latches and remove the lid. Then you can cover the base when the lid is slightly placed on the side to prevent splatters. After reheating in the microwave, do not return the lid to the container or latch the lid if the food is hot. Please read the complete Use and Care instructions.

    Note: some items like the Block Canisters, Classic Shakers, Jars, Swing Bottles and others are not recommended for microwave use. Please refer to the product sheets and read the Use and Care instructions before use.

    09| Are Glasslock products oven safe?

    Only some Glasslock containers are oven safe. To never confuse our customers after purchase, a mentioned "OVEN SAFE" is engraved on the bottom of the glass containers which have a heat resistance from -20° up to 230°C and thus, are safe for use in the oven. Always remove the lids before use in oven.

    If there is no "oven safe" mentioned on the body glass, please note that the container is not oven safe. Please read carefully the Use and Care instructions.

    10| Can Glasslock containers go from freezer to microwave?

    No. Most of Glasslock containers are designed for both the freezer and microwave; however, as with any glass product, Glasslock containers should not go from one extreme temperature to another too quickly. 

    11| What do I do if the latch on my Glasslock lid breaks? How do I get a replacement lid?

    If you do have a latch that breaks, contact our Consumer Care Center; we would be happy to provide you a replacement lid. We need the following information:

         -  Where did you buy the product?

         -  What is the exact name of the product? The name of the product is always engraved on the                   bottom of the body glass.

         -  Did you buy a set? Please indicate for which container you need a replacement lid.

    We charge € 1.00 per lid, plus 1,45€ up to 3,90€ * delivery within Germany.
